The small streamers from Wiim Audio are ridiculously good for the price. The most expensive so far, Wiim Pro Plus, is unrivalled in its class, but Wiim are not resting on their laurels.
In August, Wiim Ultra will hit the market. An even better streamer with a 3.5-inch colour touchscreen and a better ESS Sabre ES9038QM2 DAC that can handle high-resolution audio files up to 32-bit/384kHz PCM – and DSD512.
It has multiple inputs, including HDMI ARC, and a headphone output on the front. As usual, it supports AirPlay 2, Chromecast, DLNA, Tidal Connect, Spotify Connect, Qobuz and Deezer, among others.
Ultra is priced at around 400 euros, which we still think is ridiculously cheap.
Around the same time as Ultra comes WiiM Amp Pro, an upgraded version of Amp, but with the same ESS DAC that Ultra gets.
With built-in streaming and great sound, this little Wiim amplifier is a real bargain for the price.
