Earbuds are convenient and can block out ambient noise better than normal headphones. Although automatic noise cancellation can offset this advantage. But everyone’s ears are different, and finding a set of plugs that fit so well that they at least don’t fall out can be a difficult, sometimes impossible, task. And you need a perfect fit to get natural bass reproduction, too.

The solution has long been available in the form of moulded plugs. A process that requires 3D scanning of each ear and custom manufacturing of the plugs. This is both expensive and time-consuming. That’s why, until now, these have been the domain of professional musicians.

Logitech has now launched something that works brilliantly: Earbuds with soft earpieces that are pressed into shape, then automatically cured with UV light to retain their shape permanently.

The novelty has the impressive name Logitech G Fits True Wireless Gaming Earbuds, and is intended for gamers. As such, the completely wireless earbuds feature both Bluetooth and the layer-free Lightspeed connection.

The ear tips for the wireless earbuds are filled with a soft gel. Once they’re pressed into position in the ear canal and fit perfectly, the technology, which Logitech calls Lightform, is activated in the app. A strip of built-in LEDs in the plugs hardens the ear tips. It all takes just a minute. Logitech has patented the system, of course. And we can understand that, because it sounds incredibly clever! The now moulded ear tips fit so tightly and supposedly insulate so well that Logitech didn’t bother to use automatic noise cancellation (ANC) as well.

The more common side of the technical description says that the G Fits has a playtime of 10 hours, and another 12 hours with the charging case.

Price and availability
The Logitech G Fits True Wireless Gaming Earbuds will launch first in the US, where they’ll be available to buy this October at a price of USD 229.
