When a turntable manufacturer launches a radio receiver, you can’t help but be a little surprised. On the other hand, Pro-Ject already produces electronics and has amplifiers, CD players and phono stages in its range.
If you need a new CD player, the Pro-Jects CD Box may be all you need.
So it is perhaps not surprising that they are launching the Pro-Ject Tuner Box S3 DAB+.
Which is a tuner with FM, DAB+ and net radio.
With it, you can receive radio stations from both FM and DAB, and with net radio you can find a few thousand more radio stations around the world. This makes the Tuner Box S3 DAB+ a true world radio.
It is operated with an included remote control and can be connected to the system in the usual way from the RCA outputs on the back. You can also connect it to a DAC, either via optical or coaxial output.
And that’s not all. On the front, it has a headphone output that supports up to 2 x 75 mW of power at 32 Ohm, so you can listen to the radio undisturbed (and without disturbing your surroundings).
The Tuner Box S3 DAB+ is available now at a price of 449 euros.
The Yamaha receiver does everything, looks like a million and sounds phenomenal.
