QuietComfort Earbuds, also called QC Earbuds, have improved software compared to previous earbuds, to bring it up to the quality level of the larger headphones from Bose. Each earplug is about 2.5 cm long and weighs 0.3 grams, and we promise that the noise reduction is as good as with the larger bells. “Even the noisiest surroundings will be experienced as quiet oases, either by reducing noise from trucks, buses and honking in rush hour traffic, or by removing disturbing noises indoors from the neighboring room in the apartment or office,” the press release reads.

The most effective noise cancellation from Bose ever

– We have spent a lot of time ensuring that our new QuietComfort Earbuds are the most effective noise canceling earplugs ever, says Mehul Trivedi, Category Director for Bose wearable audio. – But they also have fantastic sound quality and are a pleasure to use. It is an unbeatable combination that makes the industry leaders in their segment, as a QuietComfort model should be.

Noise cancceling system

To physically block unwanted sounds, QC Earbuds has got the pillows that Bose calls StayHear Max. These should provide a soft but dense seal. technology, which should give one a soft, yet dense seal. Several microphones are used to detect, measure and send residual noise to a separate electronic chip, with a new algorithm. The earplugs make a precise counter-signal within a fraction of a millisecond. “In an instant, nearby noise from, for example, a roaring coffee grinder will be experienced on a level with whispering sounds, while buzzing sounds from engines and industrial work will almost disappear.”

Adjustable noise cancellation

QC Earbuds comes with 11 different levels of noise cancellation, so you can choose how much of the surrounding noise you want to block out. You can set and change your preferences continuously – from the lowest level where you can listen to music and at the same time follow everything that happens around you, to full noise cancellation, where you shut everything out.

For music, movies, podcasts and conversations

QC Earbuds is created for entertainment, and Bose itself claims that the reproduction of music is “as close to the original recording as possible”. The bass is neither slim nor distorted, just distinct and present in all volume levels, says Bose. Playback of movies, news and podcasts takes place with clear and natural speech, without electronic buzz. During phone calls, QC Earbuds separates your voice from those around you and mutes noise from gusts of wind, making what you say more understandable to those on the other end.

QC Earbuds: Battery life and colors

QuietComfort Earbuds has 6 hours of playing time in the plugs themselves, and another 12 hours in the battery case. 18 hours in total. They have a matte finish and come in the colors black (Triple Black) and white (Soapstone).

Bose Sport Earbuds – for the active

Bose believes that Sport Earbuds is “the ultimate training partner”. With better sound quality than its predecessors, and they are about half as big. And that’s good, because its predecessor, Soundsport Free, had a tough run in the fit department.

Sport Earbuds, on the other hand, should be favorable for training, both in terms of fit, comfort and control. Among other things, with the new StayHear Max pillows, which almost lock in place in the ears, and “stay seated whether you carry out high- or low-intensity sessions – and without you wanting to experience ailments.”

Sport Earbuds: Battery life and colors

Sport Earbuds has up to 5 hours of battery life per charge, in addition to the battery case providing up to 10 hours of extra play time. They come in the colors black (Triple Black), blue (Baltic Blue) and white (Glacier White).

Compatibility, connectivity and controls

The new Bose QuietComfort Earbuds and Sport Earbuds are compatible with both iOS devices, Android devices and built-in voice assistants. They use Bluetooth 5.1, which together with “the precisely placed antenna and a new data transfer method ensures a smooth connection”. Both models have an IPX4 rating to withstand both sweat and water. They have buttons on the house that control commands for music, calls, and provide access to the voice assistant. Silicone plugs are included in three different sizes. You get more features in the Bose Music app.
