HEOS is the multi-room platform used by Denon and Marantz. And the HEOS app has just received an update to both the user interface and the features behind it.
The update brings with it a number of visual and functional modernisations and should make it easier to access your favourite songs, radio stations and podcasts.
One of the most notable changes is the improved user interface. The home screen now features the most commonly used functions and the “Now Playing” feature makes it easier to keep track of the music you’re currently playing, no matter where you are in the app.
From the home screen, you can also access recently played tracks, favourite hits and content from favourite music services. Users can now also create their own customised HEOS playlists across streaming and media platforms. In the same way that competitor Sonos has been able to do.
The new music search functionality also works across all your streaming platforms and personal libraries simultaneously.
Functionality has also been improved on multiple levels, including device access, wireless surround technology, login security and continuous playback. Something that this writer welcomes. There was certainly room for improvement in the old HEOS.
The app is being rolled out as we speak, and should come automatically to your Android or iOS device.
