Acer’s first launch at CES 2022 is about Chromebooks. Both for home use and work. Two of them are in a traditional laptop format, while the third has a 360-degree hinge.
All three Chromebooks promise to have the latest audio and video technology, to make multitasking and productivity effective for both students, hybrid workers and home users.
The Acer Chromebook Spin 513 is a “convertible” machine with a sleek design and a solid aluminum case, so it can be taken on the go to school, projects and work. Processor selection reveals that we’re in Chromebook territory. It is a MediaTek Komapnio 1380 processor with eight cores. Instead of the standard Intel or AMD processors. The screen is 13.5 inches and is called VertiView, which means that it is in 3: 2 format, which gives users 18% more vertical screen space than a 16: 9 screen.
The Acer Chromebook 315 is a large 15.6″ laptop, which is described as an affordable choice for users who need efficient and effortless multitasking. So a machine in a reasonable price range. Exactly how cheap is not yet known. But we knpw that it will be available both with and without touch screen, in both cases the screen resolution is Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels).
The Acer Chromebook 314 is the cheapest model aimed at students and school children. That we are in the economy class is emphasized by the fact that Acer emphasizes a “good everyday performance”. The machine is 14″ and is robust enough to meet the MIL-STD 810H standard for military hardware. Battery life is stated at 10 hours, and there is a Full HD (1920 x 1080) screen, and Wi-Fi 6. The Chromebook 314 is also available with touch screen.
