Mu-so wireless speaker – Special Edition

Press release:

World-renowned British hi-fi manufacturer, Naim Audio, set the benchmark for premium wireless and multi-room speakers with the introduction of Mu-so four years ago. Combining an elegant design with a best-in-class audio performance, Mu-so continues to be the top performing wireless speaker on the market, offering more music around the home than ever before. Building on the success of the award-winning speaker range Naim is set to introduce a new member of the family: Mu-so Special Edition Champagne Finish.

Sporting a new sophisticated brushed Pure Champagne veneer, this limited edition model is exclusive to John Lewis in-store and online from 23rd August. With the Mu-so’s entire metal anodised body covered in the new colour finish, the speaker comes with a matching front grille to fit seamlessly into any modern living space.

This beautiful new finish has been selected as it ideally represents both a ‘celebration’ of the continuing success of the Mu-so family, but also because it delivers a unique appearance that oozes sophistication and exclusivity from every last detail” Says Simon Matthews, Group Design Director. “The Champagne Mu-so special offers a highly desirable and unique aesthetic, appealing to those music lovers who do not settle for second best when it comes to luxury in the home.”

Mu-so’s class-leading sound and striking profile is the result of more than 45 years expertise in audio-engineering and industrial design. At the centre of the Mu-so is the iconic rotary control interface with the rear integrated aluminium heat sink, a major part of the aesthetic. Under the anodised metal skin are six 75 watt amplifiers driving the speaker array, delivering a total of 450 watts of power, while a 32-bit digital signal processor, capable of millions of calculations per second, orchestrates the Mu-so’s finely tuned sonic performance.

Connect Mu-so to a home Wi-Fi network to open up a world of music around the home. Wirelessly stream downloaded music in high-resolution from a PC, Mac or network-attached storage via UPnP™ (Universal Plug ‘n’ Play) or music fans can browse and play millions of songs through popular Spotify, TIDAL and Apple Music streaming services. Listen to favourite broadcasts through Internet Radio while upcoming support for Apple AirPlay® 2 allows control via Siri voice commands so playing songs and playlists has never been so effortless.

Mu-so also seamlessly integrates into a Naim multi-room set-up. A combination of Mu-so, Mu-so Qb, Uniti all-in-one players or network streaming products can play the same song in-sync in up to five rooms of your home or play different music in different rooms with control via the Naim app for iOS and Android. Support for Apple AirPlay® 2 also allows multi-room functionality and connection to Naim products and compatible third-party speakers. Stream music from an iPhone®, iPad®, iPod® Touch, Mac computer and Apple TV® to every room, one room or different songs in different rooms of the house.

Mu-so features a host of further connectivity options including high-quality Bluetooth® aptX, a USB input for charging and playback of smartphones, tablets and portable music players and a 3.5mm analogue input and a digital input to hook the Mu-so up to a turntable, TV, CD player, set-top box or games console.

Naim Audio Mu-so Special Edition Champagne Finish is available from 23rd August, exclusive to John Lewis online (www.johnlewis.com) and in-store, priced £995. It is available in select specialist retailers from 4th October.
